Flow Based Monitoring

CNS has developed several tools that use flow statistics to characterize network traffic. Currently, there are two main categories of network reports. "CNS Reports" serve CNS in identifying high-utilization hosts and their peers. "Departmental Reports" profile high-utilization hosts by local and remote ports to reveal usage patterns. Several departments on campus are participating in a pilot departmental report program as part of the Network Advisory Commitee
